Why AI Tails?
These are our first experiments in exploring whether and how generative AI can help scale digital content for early literacy. Since children have a natural affinity for animals, we are creating non-fiction about animals, with text, images and narration all generated using AI tools.
- Videos released as AI Tails YouTube playlist for rapid dissemination
- Content aimed at stimulating “reading to learn” in young children
- AI has been prompted to generate text in a style appealing to 5-6 year olds
- Narration is at normal speed to emulate conversational English
- Diversity of voices, with different AI narrators for different videos
